GEM CULTURE joins the 10 Days of Connection, a Community-Wide Movement Encouraging South Florida Locals to Celebrate their Differences.
From May 1 -10, join GEM CULTURE and 170+ local organizations and leaders to build empathy, increase understanding, and celebrate our differences by attending the event (also known as connection experience) we’re hosting: A Connection Space™
GEM CULTURE hosted A Connection Space™ during the 10 Days of Connection on Friday, May 3, 2024.
MIAMI, FL - Today kicks off the eighth year of the 10 Days of Connection, a community-wide movement for everyone in Miami-Dade, Broward, and beyond to step out of their bubbles and connect with others who are not like them. GEM CULTURE is hosting A Connection Space™ to foster a more connected community and to provide an exclusive glimpse of what it is like inside of the culture.
Join in building this movement! All locals are encouraged to participate in whatever way they are ready. All connection experiences are free and range in intensity from light, medium, intense, and very intense.
We are proud to join more than 170 organizations that have taken the connection challenge, hosting connection experiences to work towards more connected, united, active, safer and prosperous communities, and also combating division, bridging topics of Politics, Religion, Race, Ethnicity and National Origin, Diverse Abilities, Sex, Gender and Sexuality, Beliefs and Values, Mental Health, Age and Generations, Money and Income, and Togetherness, Connection and Community. A full calendar and free resources are available at events.10daysofconnection.org

The 10 Days of Connection has challenged us and brought us together since late 2016, when leaders from five Miami organizations heard locals expressing a need for stronger relationships, deeper understanding, widespread kindness, and increased empathy. Stephanie Sylvestre (The Children’s Trust); Roberta Shevin (MCCJ); Rebecca Mandelman and Matthew Beatty (The Miami Foundation); Nancy Ancrum (Miami Herald); and Claudia Grillo and Tammy Klingler (United Way of Miami-Dade) came together to take action, partnering with Radical Partners to kick off the first 10 Days of Connection in 2017.
The 10 Days of Connection today is still supported by these powerful leaders, sponsored by Amazon, Achieve Miami, The Children’s Trust, The Miami Foundation, The Elevate Prize, Miami Herald, University of Miami, Shipley Foundation, Cowles Charitable Trust, Key Biscayne Community Foundation, and curated by Radical Partners - a Miami-based social impact accelerator.

“If you Zoom out, we're all human.” shares Joan Godoy, Executive Director of Radical Partners. “We should then protect our own species and take care of our people, not despite but because of our beautiful differences. Let’s be courageous enough to learn that our truth might not be the only truth, and strive to move forward together, leaving no one behind.”
