In honor of Heritage and Changemaker Month, we proudly highlight Joquetta Griffin Batista, affectionately known as Queen Joey. As the CEO and Founder of Collective Sistahood, Inc., Joquetta leads with a deep commitment to healing and legacy-building for Black-led organizations across South Florida. Her nonprofit impacts over 200 Black and Brown youth, promoting equality and unity in our community.
@CollectiveSistahood fosters a network of organizations dedicated to serving, educating, and promoting social welfare in our communities. Joquetta's guiding principles emphasize respect for others and humanity, driving initiatives like Digital Literacy and Mental Health Mondays.
With 18 years of experience as a Social Worker and Spiritual Wellness Coach, Joquetta serves as a Change Agent, linking families to community resources and promoting safe environments. She bridges gaps between social services, social justice, and activism, advocating for Trauma-Informed Communities.
Joquetta believes in the power of spiritual healing and the ability to create successful life stories. She is driven by the belief in equality as a fundamental right and is dedicated to uplifting our communities and honoring our ancestors' legacy. As a vital member of GEM CULTURE's Board of Directors, she serves as our Community and Outreach Chairperson, uniting our village and propelling us forward as a leading youth organization.
