In our ongoing celebration of Heritage and Changemaker Month, GEM CULTURE proudly highlights Kersti Myles, a dedicated thought leader and advocate for public policy supporting and uplifting the Black community, with a particular emphasis on Black women. Kersti serves as the Policy and Government Relations Director for the Urban League of Broward County and the Florida Consortium of Urban League Affiliates. She is also a licensed attorney in Florida and Washington D.C.
Kersti's drive stems from her experiences of being the only Black woman in spaces where representation is lacking. She believes that diversity and inclusion are essential for driving policy and culture forward, and advocates for multiple diverse Black voices to be heard and represented.
Through her work with the Urban League, Kersti focuses on building generational wealth and believes that education and access to diversified streams of wealth and income are crucial tools for success. She is passionate about closing the gap that has historically blocked Black people from these opportunities.
As a member of the GEM Board, Kersti is dedicated to ensuring that Black children, especially Black girls, have the freedom to express themselves without societal constraints. She believes that GEM CULTURE fosters and cultivates this freedom of self-expression and empowerment, which is essential for all children.
Kersti's commitment to advocating for policy change and empowerment aligns perfectly with GEM CULTURE's mission to support future leaders. We are honored to have Kersti as part of our community, driving positive change and inspiring others to do the same.
