A public letter from our Founder and CEG: RIMIDI
"I am realizing right now that GEM CULTURE ain't for every girl, gender expansive youth or for every parent.
You've got to be ready to grow, learn and stretch.
You also have got to be ready for constructive criticism necessary to be a better person and citizen (for our GEMS) and to be a better person, citizen AND parent (for our GEM Parents and GEM Guardians).
We are helping our youth and young adults to become authentic, real and connected to oneself, resources and the world around them. We believe in supporting and guiding our parents with the idea that they have to walk the walk and talk the talk because their young ones are doing it and so their parents/guardians doing anything less, disrupts this process. We need the entire village on board. This is evolutionary. This is revolutionary.
Let us tighten up the village by holding ourselves accountable and responsible for our individual growth which in turn cultivates a better world.
We must speak love and life into our babies so that they can blossom and shift the energy and trajectory of this planet.
So, I won't be sad anymore for those that do not make the cut because everybody ain't ready to do the work or maybe they are in a different space or they may simply be into other things. Over here, we are into self-improvement, self evolution and the overall evolution of the planet by empowering girls who power the world. We do this through our mission to provide them with safe spaces and mentorship that ensures their successful transition into adulthood and beyond. So, if ever you and/or your young one(s) are ready, come and see us. We hope to see you when you are.
I am glad that there is clarity now on who it is that we serve and exactly what it is that we are doing here.
GEM CULTURE only opens once a year.
Our 2025 Application Process and Recruitment opens up this later year for girls and gender expansive youth, ages 13-18, in Miami-Dade and Broward counties starting in October 2024 for our 2025 programming year which begins next year in February of 2025.
I am so proud of the culture and everyone who has ever contributed to it in any way. I am extremely excited about our current GEM VILLAGE (GEMS, DIAMONDS, GEM LEADS, GEM Parents, GEM Guardians, GEM BOARD OF DIRECTORS, all of our supportive loved ones and community partners). I am thankful for our greater community, our GEM COMMUNITY, for showing up for us. Even more, I am excited about our past for the lessons it has brought us, for our present moment which sets the path for our future ahead. I can see the light and I am confident in my ability to continue to lead us forward.
We are elated.
